|
Atlas group employs nearly 150 staff members in Malta, numbering among them a substantial
number of Chartered Insurers and Fellows of the Chartered Insurance Institute of
London. Many of the staff are business graduates, with a growing number choosing
to qualify in business, insurance, risk management and various financial qualifications. |

David Mifsud FCII Chartered Insurer - Company Underwriter
David started his insurance career in 1983 and since 1990 has been the company underwater
for Atlas Insurance PCC Ltd and its preceding agencies, responsible for the company’s
overall underwriting function and product development. Since Atlas
Insurance Agency Ltd converted to an Insurance Company in 2004, David has additionally been responsible
for reinsurance procurement and the management of the company’s reinsurance function.
As part of Atlas’s International Business Team he provides his technical expertise
in the assessment and management of protected cells. He is also an executive director
of
Ark Insurance Management (Malta) Limited. He is a Chartered Insurer and Fellow
of the Chartered Insurance Institute (London).

Ian-Edward Stafrace FCII MIRM PIOR Chartered Insurer - Business
Intelligence Analyst
10 years experience as business intelligence analyst, risk manager and commercial
insurer working for Atlas Insurance PCC Ltd with specialisations in the areas of
captives and protected cells. He is a member of Atlas’s international business team,
Solvency II team and risk management committee. He is a Fellow and Chartered Insurer
of the Chartered Insurance Institute (London), Member of The Institute of Risk Management
(London) and Professional Member of the Institute of Operational Risk (London).

John Bonett – Consultant
Former insurance regulator during the period 1992 to 2003 with the Malta Financial
Services Authority (MFSA) as Director of Insurance. At MFSA John was actively involved
in the enactment and supervision of the new Insurance legislation and the drafting
of various amendments to the tax law relating to insurance business. MFSA is a founder
member of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) and John
sat on its Insurance Laws and Regulations Sub-Committee for eight years. Following
retirement, over the past years John has been acting as a consultant on a part time
basis to the Atlas Insurance Group advising on regulatory compliance, captive insurance
management and protected
cell facilities.

Mark Camilleri – Group Financial Controller and Compliance Officer
Mark has worked with the Group since 1982 when he joined as accountant in the then
Agency representation for Guardian Royal Exchange Assurance plc. Over the years
Mark has worked closely with the board in executing the Group’s business plan which
plan has led Atlas to be the foremost Insurance and Financial Services provider
on the island. His experience in insurance accounting and regulatory compliance
serves the Group well in achieving its objectives to grow the organisation’s international
operations. He is an executive director on the board of Ark Insurance Management
Limited.
